If you haven't been under a rock (which you may have been, in which case I hope it's a comfortable one), you've surely heard all the excitement around Disney's most recent animated production, "Encanto."

Believe me when I say that this is not your typical animated film; rather, it is a heartwarming and catchy musical masterpiece.

Now grab your most beloved magical candle and let's explore the magical realm of Encanto!

Let's discuss that soundtrack first things foremost. We knew we were in for a treat the instant "We Don't Talk About Bruno" hit our ears. Who knew that rumors about a strange uncle could sound so damn appealing? And let's not even discuss "surface pressure." Let's just say that this song hits differently if you've ever felt like you have the entire world (or, you know, a massive magical home) on your shoulders.

Beyond the contagious music, however, Encanto offers some insightful life lessons veiled in fantastical disasters. Consider Mirabel as an example. She's just your typical girl, bless her heart, trying to find her place in a family of remarkable people. We can all relate to feeling like the odd one out, even though we might not all be able to control plants or see into the future. Let's give Mirabel some credit for demonstrating that being "ordinary" is everything but.

Let's now discuss those enchanted presents. The Madrigal family possesses superhuman strength and shapeshifting abilities. But let's face it, at some point, we've all hoped for a little magic in our lives. Who wouldn't want to be able to call forth adorable animal companions or prepare a delicious meal with a simple wrist flick? However, as Encanto reminds us, there are moments when we possess the most powerful magic of all. Overly sentimental? Perhaps. Is that correct? Indeed.

May we just pause to enjoy Antonio's amusing antics and his growing fixation on his amazing gift? Who knew a child who could communicate with animals would stir up this much trouble? Hey, at least he has a gang of cuddly animals to pass the time with. Make a mental note to start with something a little less... crazy if you are ever bestowed with magical abilities.

Naturally, a Disney film wouldn't be complete without a good number of touching moments, and Encanto has enough of them. This film makes you feel everything at once—from the endearing relationship between Abuela and her grandchildren to the heartfelt examination of family dynamics. Encanto is a magical adventure that you won't soon forget, whether you find yourself laughing along with the amusing antics or reaching for the tissues during the sorrowful parts.
